Physician Assistant - Certified

Matt has lived in Knoxville since the age of 5.  He graduated from Farragut High School in 1993.  He then obtained a Bachelor’s degree at The University of Tennessee in Animal Science.  During this time he began working at Children’s Hospital as a tech in the Rehab Center, and then in the ER.  Shortly after college, he married his high school sweetheart and spent a few years as the Men’s gymnastics coach at the Knoxville Gymnastics Training Center.  He and his wife moved to Beckley, West Virginia in 2001 so that he could attend Mountain State University where he received his master’s degree as a Physician Assistant.  Immediately after graduation they returned to their home in East Tennessee and he began his medical career at East Tennessee Children’s Hospital.  Since the fall of 2004 he has worked as a PA both in the ER and as a hospitalist.  He is now excelling in his role as a PA for the pediatric surgery group at Children’s Hospital, and raising a family of his own.
