Dr. Fowler was born and raised in New Orleans, Louisiana.  She attended Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia where she earned both and B.S. degree in biology and a B.A. in chemistry.  She later received her medical degree from Louisiana State University New Orleans.  Dr. Fowler attended surgical residency programs at Louisiana State University Medical Center and the The University of South Dakota as well as a pediatric surgery residency at Children’s Hospital of Los Angeles.  Her fellowships include trauma surgery at Louisiana State University Medical Center and pediatric surgery at Baylor Texas Children’s Hospital and Children’s Hospital of Buffalo.  Before coming to Knoxville, Dr. Fowler held distinguished positions with The University of Kentucky Medical Center in Lexington Kentucky and Mercer University and Memorial Health System in Savannah, Georgia.  Dr. Fowler loves the outdoors.  She and her Husband Jeff enjoy hiking, canoeing and traveling to exotic areas of the world.
